This 2,000 year-old Surya Dev bead was recently on display during an ancient bead exhibit here in Thailand. Surya Dev is a Hindu sun god-Hinduism took root in Thailand long ago but Buddhism is now firmly the main religion.
During the exhibition, someone stole the bead from it's display case...and then promptly returned it by mail with a note that read...
“I apologise for any inconvenience and trouble caused. I have decided to return it so everyone stops worrying. With profound regrets.”
