White Widayat

White Widayat, originally uploaded by nrillustration.

After posting Monet's snowy landscape, I was reminded of H. Widayat's work. He's a 20th century Indonesian artist that painted during a time when art was changing wildly-an evolving style throughout his career reflects these changes. It's hard to show in a little blog image, but this painting, "White Forest" has fantastic detail in a limited color range, .

  1. This and the Monet seem to have more colors in them than they really do. I guess that is art!

  3. Yea, there was lots of color in the original painting, but it comes across very white-really beautiful.
