cloisters

cloisters, originally uploaded by nrillustration.

I've always wanted to visit the Cloisters museum so I went for my birthday this year. It's a beautiful medieval art museum set in a Tryon state park. The building itself was constructed to fit the theme and incorporates pieces of art and architecture from all over Europe. Definitely worth the trip if you have a half-day free in NYC.

  1. The Cloisters is a fovorite of mine too. I recommend visiting in different seasons - the gardens change as do the rooms which are open.
    Happy Birthday!

  2. Didn't end up getting to go to the Cloisters when we were in New York even though it was one of the top things I wanted to see. Next trip it is the first thing I'll do!

    Happy Birthday!

  3. I've heard it's great to see as the seasons change, the setting is a big part of the charm. Angela, it's right up your alley!
