Entymologist's Dream

Entymologist's Dream, originally uploaded by nrillustration.

I absolutely love the work of the book Illustrators from the golden age... Edmund Dulac, Arthur Rackham and Kay Nielsen, to name a few. The painting here is called "Entymologist's Dream" by Edmund Dulac.

Dulac was a French Illustrator who imagined scenes from The Arabian Nights, Sleeping Beauty, collected works by the Brontë sisters and books for the WWI relief efforts. I love the mysterious feel of his work and his limited use of color. Entymologist's Dream is from a book of fairy tales.
