Autumn in Orillia

Fall is here and I love this painting, Autumn in Orillia, by Franklin Carmichael, a naturalist painter from the 1920s. I like the frame created by the dark foreground, the composition with the tall tree just off-center and the color combo (I'm a sucker for turq paired with reds and oranges). Happy autumn!

  1. I really like this color combination. I seem to be drawn to a lot of art work from the 1920s.

  2. This has to be my favorite color combo. I like it every time I see it!
