White

This is a painting entitled White by Ali El Hadj Tahar. I'm always fascinated with the way artists represent the subtleties of the color white. This painting has very little actual white in it but conveys the feel of white nonetheless. There's also a je ne sais quoi about the composition and the style of painting that feels whimsical to me. If anyone can explain that "je ne sais quoi" to me, please comment!
