At one point in my life I thought I'd make a career as a children's book illustrator. Conveniently, this gave me an excuse to buy beautifully illustrated books as "inspiration" but, as my work veered in other directions, I finally had to give up the book-buying. Now that I have the munchkin in tow, I've acquired an entirely new reason to scavenge book stores for the artsy-est kids' books I can find. Today I'm swooning over Cyrano, illustrated by Rebecca Dautremer. Her work is so stunning I won't even bother telling you why I like it, you just have to look for yourself. The three images here are from Cyrano but she's prolific and has plenty of other work on her website.
